Though Denver had been selected for a U.S. Mint in 1862, it was not until 1906 – two years after the Morgan silver dollar had been “retired” – that coin production began. And when the Wild West’s famed “silver cartwheel” was revived in 1921 for one year only, these two symbols of America’s western frontier were finally united.
Now, you can experience the bold beauty and colourful history of this scarce antique with this fascinating 90% silver coin – the only historic Morgan with the coveted “D” mint mark – preserved in brilliant uncirculated condition.
The coin is sonically sealed in a crystal-clear capsule, similar to those used by leading grading companies, allowing examination of George T. Morgan’s classic rendition of Lady Liberty on the front and magnificently winged Bald Eagle on the back.
The custom-crafted wooden Display Chest (measuring 8¼” x 1½” x 5¾”) and Collector’s Guide, which details the rich history of the coins, are also included.
