The gold guinea was minted in almost every year throughout the reign of George II (1727-60). Made from solid 22ct gold, it had a face value of 21 shillings and weighs 8.4 grams. The obverse features the left-facing portrait of the king and on the reverse is a large crowned shield containing the arms of England and Scotland, France, Hanover, and Ireland.

The gold coin is encapsulated for protection and mounted on a richly-finished wooden panel, which can lie flat or be set at an angle within the handsome display chest provided at no extra charge. The date you receive will depend on our limited available supply. This is a rare opportunity to own a magnificent gold coin that is over 250 years old!
