Throughout recent history, British coins have featured lions, unicorns and dragons, but very few animals native to our shores. One exception is the much-loved, but short-lived wren farthing, introduced in 1937 until its final minting in 1956.

Due to their popularity amongst collectors and the scarcity of some mintages, it can be difficult to obtain complete sets.

However, you are invited to become one of the selected few collectors who can ever own all of the last 20 wren farthings!

Struck in bronze, an alloy of copper, tin and zinc, weighing just 2.8 grams and with a diameter of 20 mm, these tiny coins ‘punch above their weight’ for both beauty and interest. The minting figures of the wren farthing for each year show quite remarkable differences, with the smallest number being produced in 1956 and the largest being an amazing 16 times more in 1943. Every wren farthing date will be yours, as we have managed to obtain even the scarcest dates – 1938, 1952 and 1956, together with all four of the Queen Elizabeth II coins.

You will receive a deluxe wooden display chest, featuring a glass lid and a rich blue interior. It’s the ultimate presentation, and it’s yours at no additional charge.

Display is 3½" x 10½” x 8" (closed).

There are no gimmicks or hidden fees. The total cost of an item doesn’t change whether paying in full or in instalments. This is simply offered as a convenience to our customers.
Please be advised that instalments are only available on orders placed with a major credit card.

Does it cost more to pay by the instalment plan than if you pay all at once?
No, there is no extra cost for paying by instalments – this is a convenience that we offer to our customers.

Why do I pay for postage and handling on each instalment?
We take the total cost of postage and hnadling and divide it by the number of instalments so that each instalment is the same amount. The shipping and service charge is the same whether you pay in full or in instalments.
