Founded in 1824, the Royal National Lifeboat Institute is one of Britain’s oldest and most important organisations. Dedicated to saving lives at sea around the British Isles and the Channel Islands, the charity mans 238 lifeboat stations and operates 444 lifeboats with crews of mostly unpaid volunteers.
Now as we celebrate 200 years of this vital institution, the Royal Mint has issued a unique tribute, featuring a depiction of the RNLI crest within a lifebuoy ring.
