Meet Papa … the first member of a brand new Steiff teddy bear family. This gorgeous hand-crafted bear made of the finest mohair in a rich chestnut hue. His fur has been dyed using a hand-applied batik process to create areas of fabulous light and shade within his coat. This adds a unique warmth to his already wonderful character, and means that no two bears will be exactly the same!
Papa’s exquisite hand-stitched claws and gentle expression are sure to capture your heart! Just like those early Steiff bears Papa is fully jointed and they’ve even given him a voice. Tilt him gently from front to back to hear his friendly growl.
His charming, collared waistcoat is made of linen and adorned with elegant brass buttons. And don’t miss the darling pocket square peeking out of his top pocket which adds further style and sophistication to this already impressive bear.
Papa has been lovingly brought to life by the talented craftsmen and women at Steiff using traditional techniques that date back to 1902 when the company made the world’s very first teddy bear. In his ear, you’ll find the famous Steiff button and a white tag with red writing that signifies his special limited-edition status – only 1,902 bears can ever be produced worldwide.
