On 6th May 2023, the Royal Mint struck a brand-new sovereign to commemorate the historic coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. Made of 22ct gold, this Proof sovereign has been struck using specially selected blanks and highly-polished dies to give a distinctive mirrored finish. The obverse features the U.S. release. first official crowned coinage portrait of King Charles III, wearing the Tudor crown. The reverse feature Benedetto Pistrucci’s classic St George and the dragon design.
This remarkable coin has been certified by coin-grader PCGS as flawless PR70, the highest grade possible, as well as an Early Issue, guaranteeing that it was issued within the first 20 business days of its U.S. release.
