“The Community Bobby” has been hand-crafted by the talented craftsmen and women at Steiff using skills perfected over the past 120 years. His gorgeous golden-brown fur is made from the softest mohair and his nose and mouth have been painstakingly stitched by hand to create a cheerful, friendly expression.
The same love and care has gone into creating his smart uniform too. His tunic jacket is secured with four gleaming silver-coloured buttons and finished with a smart faux leather belt. His collar proudly displays his official police number – 1902 – honouring the year that Richard Steiff invented the very first teddy bear. His traditional Custodian Helmet has a specially designed hat badge which features the Steiff logo and their symbolic elephant emblem.
“The Community Bobby” is made exclusively for Danbury Mint. He cannot be purchased anywhere else, ensuring that his collectable status remains high.
