With Queen Elizabeth II’s passing on 8th September 2022, the Royal Mint had little time to prepare a new portrait for her successor, King Charles III. A 2023 Silver Britannia featuring the Queen’s last ever effigy was released, the last of five official coinage portraits from her long reign. After just a few weeks, the 2023 Silver Britannia was updated with the first official coinage portrait of King Charles III. This marks the only time in history that the Royal Mint has created two different portraits for the same year’s Silver Britannia.

The classic Silver Britannia is one of the world’s most popular and most beautiful silver bullion coins. A spectacular work of art that celebrates our history and traditions, it is struck by the prestigious Royal Mint in 99.9% pure silver and contains one full troy ounce of silver.

Each stunning coin has been certified by PCGS as Gem Uncirculated – one of the highest quality coins possible – as well as being Early Issue, meaning it was confirmed as having been released by the Royal Mint within the first 20 business days of its initial U.S. issue.

A deluxe wooden Display Chest will arrive with your second coin at no additional charge! With silver-toned hardware and a lock and key, it’s the perfect way to showcase your collection.

Display is 8” (20cm) x 5¾” (15cm) x 1½” (4cm).

Why do I pay for postage and handling on each instalment?
We take the total cost of postage and hnadling and divide it by the number of instalments so that each instalment is the same amount. The shipping and service charge is the same whether you pay in full or in instalments.
