The beautiful kingfisher… so easy to recognise yet so hard to spot. If you’re lucky, you’ll see one darting along the riverbank waiting to nab its next meal. The striking mix of its bright-blue back and metallic copper breast make the kingfisher unmistakable.
This wonderful depiction is the result of a unique and entirely handmade process of the highest technical and artistic quality. Every genuine rinconada sculpture is hand carved and individually painted, ensuring no two are ever identical – it’s your very own one-of-a-kind sculpture.
Each kingfisher is then accented with vibrant platinum, gold and enamel glazes to give it that wonderfully-distinct plumage. It’s a process that time and expertise; each enamel glaze must be re-fired individually in order to preserve its distinctive colouration. This is truly one of the finest examples of contemporary ceramic design and craftsmanship.
