No U.S. coin embodies the spirit of America more than its purest Silver Dollar: the American Eagle, coveted by collectors and investors alike. Each year, the U.S. Mint releases a standard uncirculated edition of the American Eagle Silver Dollar. Unknown to most collectors, it also produces a burnished uncirculated coin that is made especially for collectors and is struck to a higher quality than the standard edition.
In a process similar to that used to create the magnificent Proof coins, the uncirculated .999 pure silver American Eagle coins are hand-loaded into the coining press, struck on specially burnished blanks and display the coveted “W” mint mark of the West Point Mint.
We were able to secure a small number of 2020 burnished uncirculated coins during the limited “Early Issue” period. These coins were certified by PCGS – the leading independent coin authority – as both an “Early Issue” and a perfect SP 70 specimen. “Early Issue” means it was one of the prized few that were authenticated by PCGS as having been released by the U.S. Mint within the first 20 business days of its initial issue.
SP 70 is an abbreviation of Special Strike 70, a rarely seen grade for an uncirculated coin. It certifies the coin to be hand-picked as exceptional. It is literally impossible to find a higher graded coin, because “70” is the finest condition possible.
It will arrive in a handsome Display Case and be protected in an official sonically sealed PCGS holder with a label attesting to its exclusive status.
Coin is 1½” in diameter.
