In “The Tale of Pigling Bland” – first published in 1913 – a tubby little pig and his brother, Alexander, are sent to the market to find work. But when Alexander is sent home by a policeman, the reluctant Pigling Bland is forced to continue his journey alone.
After spending the night in a farmer’s chicken coop, he meets a beautiful Berkshire sow named Pig-wig and together they decide to run for the hills and freedom!
Now the craftsmen and women at Steiff have recreated Beatrix Potter’s resourceful little pig perfectly. He’s hand-made from the finest pale pink alpaca fur with lovely hand-stitched details. His charming outfit of green pantaloons, blue and white striped shirt and smart brown jacket have all been crafted with the same care and attention.
Pinned to Pigling Bland’s jacket is a special limited edition pin badge. A faithful reproduction of Beatrix Potter’s original artwork – it’s yours absolutely free.
Pigling Bland is being made in a strict limited edition, exclusively for Danbury Mint. Only 5,000 pieces can be produced worldwide.
Actual size is 11" (27cm)
