Paper teddy bears are steeped in history; at the end of World War One, supplies were in drastic shortage. Materials such as mohair and wool were hard to come by. Steiff, the inventors of the teddy bear once again become ‘paw pioneers’ and thus made their bears from paper plush!
After Midnight follows that tradition. He’s named after his elegant moonlit night sky colour. He’s certainly as sophisticated as his name suggests. He’s made from long pile paper plush, with bear-making talents and techniques that hark back a century. His paw pads are made from vegan pineapple leather and are perforated to allow you to see his wood wool filling inside. His glass eyes glint in the pale moonlight and he’s five-way jointed, allowing you to pose him as you wish. He proudly wears his trademark ‘button-in-ear’ and polished stainless steel chest tag with the original Company logo of 1897.
After Midnight is only available in limited numbers – just 2,020 bears will ever be made.
Actual size of bear is 12" (30cm) standing.
